about

Last year Keith Moliné finally got round to buying a cassette player, and set to work digitising some old recordings. This is the first of two releases documenting a two-year period of musical activity in the early 1980s. The original cassette from which the work collected here has been taken - a cache of all-analogue electronic teen angst captured for posterity on magnetic tape - was in a poor state and required a fair amount of work to make the music sound something like it had nearly forty years previously. Lurking in the shadows of these tracks are the almost tangible evocations of Cold War brinkmanship, Monetarist free market economics, and the avoidance of exam revision. The True Eighties.
